Are All Brokerages and Agents Created Equal? This is an interesting question.
All brokers and agents who are licensed to sell real estate by the California Bureau of Real Estate (BRE) have been screened, fingerprinted, and tested confirming a basic understanding of real estate principles and procedures, as well as an understanding of legal requirements as it pertains to real estate and business law.
It is easy to assume that if all brokers/agents are licensed by the same agency, and all have access to the MLS (Multiple Listing Service), then it may make very little difference which agent you choose to open the lockbox hanging on the door of that perfect house. If you're a seller, it is easy to assume that since all agents have MLS access and FOR SALE and OPEN HOUSE signs, it really doesn't matter who you pick to represent you in the sale of your property.
